There are many intangible factors that are part of homelessness: the psychological effects of second and third generation poverty; social isolation; damage from deeply dysfunctional families; child abuse; and the wounds to self-esteem that come from the degradation of living on the street. These factors remind us that healing homelessness requires not only enormous resources, but also genuine care, relationships, and restoration of dignity and self-esteem. While such healing is a profound challenge, we have witnessed it countless times at Brotherhood Mission Ministries.
Those who visit Brotherhood Mission Ministries often leave with a different perspective when they hear our men say the greatest gifts of life are those within their reach -- sobriety, triumph over adversity, trust, caring, individual responsibility, brotherhood, fellowship, and respect for their life and the lives of others.
Homelessness IS a solvable problem. And the men at Brotherhood Mission are so very grateful to everyone who has helped make that possible.
We invite you to visit the Brotherhood Mission Ministries and see how lives are being changes and hope restored. Please contact us if your are interested in visiting Brotherhood Mission. You will always be welcomed in our HOME.
